Anise plant Anise is a herb that reaches a height of about half a meter. The part used from the plant is the fruit, as well as the essential oil contained within it. Uses: Internal uses: 1- For respiratory diseases such as shortness of breath, cough, and asthma attacks 2- Digestive disorders, intestinal colic, and bloating 3- To stimulate the kidneys, induce menstruation, treat ovarian weakness, increase milk production, and facilitate childbirth, where a decoction of anise fruits is used in all the previous cases at a rate of a small spoonful of fruit powder in a full cup of boiling water, covered and left to steep for 15 to 20 minutes, then drunk once in the morning and once in the evening. External uses: 1- Eye infections, where anise decoction is used as an eye rinse 2- To remove head and pubic lice, a mixture of anise oil and olive oil in a 1:1 ratio is used as a topical application. Anise has no side effects if the person adheres to the specified doses, and regarding medications, it only interacts with anticoagulant drugs.
