Hibiscus plant, a herbal shrub around, its height reaches about two meters. The part used from the hibiscus plant is the flowers and leaves. Hibiscus is used in several forms, eaten raw with salads, added to soups, and can be cooked alone with butter or oil or with eggs. Hibiscus is used internally and externally. Internally: to treat cough, fever, pulmonary tuberculosis, high blood pressure, and to eliminate tapeworms. Method: a tablespoon is taken and added to a cup of boiling water, covered for ten minutes, then drunk, three times a day. To relieve gout and rheumatism pain, an infusion is made from hibiscus by grinding the flowers to a medium grind. Method: a teaspoon of this powder is taken and placed in a glass cup, then poured immediately with boiling water, stirred well, covered, and drunk after 15 minutes. Two cups are consumed daily, one after breakfast and one after dinner. External uses: to increase the fixation of hair color and give it a shiny copper hue. Method: a decoction of hibiscus flowers is used and added to henna powder and chamomile flowers to form a paste, which is evenly distributed on hair strands, then the head is wrapped with a plastic bag for 6 hours, then the hair is washed with warm water. The hair will then have a beautiful copper red color. Hibiscus should not be used by patients with low blood pressure because it naturally lowers blood pressure.
